Staying on top in the NFL is far from a safe bet , especially with today's "What have you done for me lately?" attitude. There are players who extend their dominance over 20 years, like Brett Favre and Tom Brady, but the opposite is much more abundant. Flash-in-the-pans are all too prevalent, causing power shifts in a league where teams have a precarious perch among the elite.Greatness is far from common, but one-hit wonders have been a part of NFL since its inception. This boosts the expectation of fans, team executives, and the players themselves, much to their disappointment. Promising prospects have been derailed after a massive campaign far too many times to count, crushing dreams of the next great face-of-the-franchise for an entire organization.Almost the entirety of the 2007 Cleveland Browns could be guilty of this dubious title, but there have been plenty of offenders in the lengthy history of the league. Working to become the best often winds up in a single, glorious stretch from September to January that can never be repeated because of injury, roster changes, or flat-out luck. No team is immune from playing into the hype game, and these 15 anomalies will stand in eternal infamy. Javier Baez put on a show for the Chicago Cubs and appeared to nail his audition for a high-profile role later this summer.

Baez hit two home runs Ryan Finley Jersey , including a grand slam, Jon Lester won his sixth consecutive start and the Cubs ended a five-game losing streak with a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night.

Baez homered in consecutive innings, giving him 16 on the season, and finished with four hits. He hit a solo shot off Dodgers starter Ross Stripling in the fifth inning and his bases-loaded shot in the sixth into the Dodgers’ bullpen came against reliever Edward Paredes.

And he did all of his damage in front of Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who just happens to be the National League’s manager in the All-Star Game next month.

”I have been saying for a couple of years, the moment he stops swinging at sliders in the dirt, he becomes Manny Ramirez . and he’s getting closer,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said of Baez. ”And I think he is a better defender than Manny was . and baserunner. And Manny, I still love you.”

Baez said he was inspired to play at Dodger Stadium, but not necessarily because Roberts was watching him from the top step.

”I love it here,” Baez said. ”The (Dodgers) fans are pretty close to ours. I like playing here and I like the energy they have for their team. This is a team we will see for a long time, hopefully in the playoffs, and it is always going to be a good competition.”

Stripling gave up just one run over five innings before the Cubs broke open the game with six runs off the bullpen. Yimi Garcia (1-2) gave up three of them. The Dodgers lost for just the sixth time in 22 games in June.

”I think they’re a really good lineup,” Stripling said. ”Obviously Lester on the mound makes them good , too. I think they’re a good benchmark for us to see how we’re playing.”

It was Baez’s fourth multi-homer game and his second this season. His grand slam was the fourth of his career.

Lester (10-2) gave up two runs on four hits over five innings. It was his shortest outing by innings since April 11, when he also went five against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and his 82 pitches were his fewest since throwing 71 on opening day in Miami.

”Obviously any time you’re taken out of a game you’re not happy, (but) I respect the decision,” Lester said. ”(Maddon’s) my manager and I always stand behind him. But I’m a competitor and I want to pitch innings.”

Lester has a 1.73 ERA over his last 11 starts, going back to April 30, and hasn’t lost since May 23. He is tied with Washington’s Max Scherzer for the NL lead in wins.

Cody Bellinger had two of the Dodgers’ four hits off Lester and now has 19 hits in his past 18 games, including seven of his 15 home runs.

The Dodgers have a major league-leading 48 home runs in June but did not hit one Tuesday.

The Cubs sent nine batters to the plate in their big sixth inning. Adison Russell and Ben Zobrist hit RBI singles in the frame to go along with Baez’s grand slam. Willson Contreras added an RBI single in the eighth inning and Albert Almora had an RBI single in the ninth.

The Dodgers’ Enrique Hernandez and Justin Turner each stole third base uncontested in the eighth inning with the Cubs’ infield overloaded on the right side in an extreme defensive shift. Hernandez and Turner both ended up scoring in the inning.

Cubs hitting coach Chili Davis held a short meeting Tuesday for the hitters and it turned into a nine-run, 15-hit night for a club starved for offense.

”I want to believe (the meeting) had something to do with it,” Maddon said. ”(Opposite-field) hits by Almora and Contreras I loved. And of course, Javy had a nice day. I’m still looking forward to, as we get more mature in the batter’s box, that we chase less. I love homers like everybody else does, but there are so many other ways to score.”

The Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig was doubled off trying to scramble back to first base in the second inning Michael Jordan Jersey , failed to grab Ian Happ’s line drive into the gap in right-center for an error in the sixth, and twice allowed the Cubs to take an extra base on throws back to the infield.

The Dodgers came into the sixth inning with a 2-1 lead and left trailing 7-2.

”I thought the ball was a little further away and when I was trying to run it down I kind of lost it in the lights and that’s when we lost the game,” Puig said of missing Happ’s liner.

Cubs: 3B Kris Bryant (left shoulder inflammation) was placed on the 10-day DL, retroactive to June 23, but is not expected to miss more than 10 days, Maddon. … RHP Yu Darvish (right triceps tendinitis) will throw a bullpen this week before the Cubs decide if he will need another rehab start or rejoin the active roster.

Dodgers: RHP Walker Buehler (right rib microfracture) threw a full-intensity bullpen session and the Dodgers will discuss the possibility of an upcoming minor league rehab start. … INF/OF Chris Taylor (sore left hamstring) did not start but had a pinch-hit single in the fifth inning as the club is trying to avoid a DL move. … RHP Pedro Baez (right biceps tendinitis) threw a bullpen at about 70-percent effort, according to Roberts, and is expected to throw another bullpen Friday.

Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks (5-7, 3.73 ERA) has lost four of his last five starts. Dodgers left-hander Alex Wood (3-5, 4.13) has won his last two starts after giving up 15 combined runs over his previous three out

As a young football player with high aspirations to succeed in the NFL Joey Bosa Jersey , it’s tough knowing that you cannot select the team you play for. When these players are ready to move on to the NFL, their fate lays in the hands of those NFL owners who are either interested, or uninterested in them. So, for some players, it may be better if they’re not selected early in the draft. Many people say that as long as you’re talented, that you will succeed with whatever team you play for. But that doesn’t always happen with every player. The draft is a risk, and no matter how much film you watch on a player, you never know what you’re actually going to get out of that player. JaMarcus Russell was the first overall draft pick of the 2007 NFL Draft. Russell’s NFL career lasted three years, finishing with a 7-18 record. Now, Russell never had the opportunity to play with another team Dwayne Haskins Jersey , so if he did have another chance, he could have been more successful.Fans fall in love with them, and then if they don’t perform to their expectations, they’re forgotten about. Some fans forget that players need time to actually learn in the NFL. Adam Jones took a big swing, and the result was a popup. He slammed his bat to the ground in disgust and dutifully jogged to first base.

Somehow, that seemingly routine out became the catalyst for a six-run inning that carried the Baltimore Orioles past the Los Angeles Angels 8-2 on Sunday.

Manny Machado and Mark Trumbo hit consecutive homers after the Angels lost the popup in the sun, and the Orioles got a strong pitching performance from Kevin Gausman in snapping a seven-game losing streak.

Los Angeles was up 1-0 when Jones led off the fourth against Deck McGuire (0-1) by hitting a ball high in the air. Second baseman Ian Kinsler couldn’t catch sight of it, and the ball landed on the dirt between second and first for a gift single.

”Sounds funny to say, but those are the types of things that have been happening to us,” Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. ”Kinsler’s as good a second baseman as there is.”

Machado followed with his 21st home run  Ed Oliver Jersey , Trumbo connected , and Steve Wilkerson singled in a run before Tim Beckham capped the surge with a two-run single.

The home runs were lamentable, but the popup was especially galling to the Angels.

”Obviously it’s unexpected. It happens,” manager Mike Scioscia said. ”He thought he had a bead on it and all of a sudden it disappeared in the sun.”

Jones got credit for a hit, but it sure didn’t feel that way.

”Sure, it’s just like an error,” Scioscia said. ”I don’t think (McGuire) was affected by it, but obviously it adds fuel to the fire and starts a rally for them.”

Trumbo homered again in the fifth and Trey Mancini also connected to help Baltimore secure its only victory during a seven-game homestand that began with four straight losses to Seattle.

Gausman (4-6) weathered temperatures in the upper 90s to go eight innings, allowing two runs and six hits to end a run of eight straight winless starts.

The Orioles improved to 1-15 against the AL West and won at home for only the second time in 19 games since May 13.

Baltimore still owns the worst record in the majors, but there were plenty of smiles to go around on this day.

”We’re undefeated in July ,” Showalter said with a grin. ”Sometimes, you have to laugh to keep from crying, right? We have good people. It just hasn’t happened for us, but we have half the season left. That’s the approach we’re taking.”

Kole Calhoun homered and Albert Pujols drove in a run for the Angels, who were seeking the first season sweep of Baltimore in franchise history. They settled for going 5-1, their fewest losses against the Orioles in one year.

LA reliever Eduardo Parades has allowed five HRs in 16 1/3 innings. … Gausman did not allow a walk for the fifth time this season. … Wilkerson recorded his first career double, but Showalter said the rookie left with an apparent oblique injury. … Angels star Mike Trout did not reach base for only the 12th time in 85 games this year.

Angels: DH/RHP Shohei Ohtani (elbow) was scheduled to take live batting practice in California. Asked if the two-way star could be activated for this week’s series against Seattle, Scioscia replied, ”Let’s get by today, see how he does.” … RHP Garrett Richards (hamstring) could be ready to come off the DL on Wednesday to start against Seattle.

Orioles: OF Colby Rasmus was held out with an illness. … RHP Darren O’Day said he opted for season-ending surgery on his hamstring because there was no guarantee he would be healthy by September. ”I need to functionally get it fixed so it just doesn’t happen again Devin Singletary Jersey ,” he said. … RHP Chris Tillman (back) will need at least one more rehabilitative start after allowing five runs and eight hits in 3 2/3 innings for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday night.

Angels: After taking Monday off, LA faces Seattle on the road to launch a three-game series. Andrew Heaney (4-5, 3.95 ERA) is 0-3 with a 6.14 ERA in seven road starts.

Orioles: Following a day off Monday, Baltimore sends Alex Cobb (2-9, 6.75) to the mound in the opener of a two-game interleague series in Philadelphia.

Yu Darvish won’t be rejoining the Chicago Cubs‘ rotation this weekend after sustaining a setback during a bullpen session on Thursday.

Manager Joe Maddon says the Japanese right-hander felt pain in his right arm.

”It didn’t go well ,” Maddon said. ”He still felt pain on extension. He wasn’t able to cut it loose.”

Darvish will return to Chicago to be evaluated, and won’t pitch Saturday as scheduled. He’ll be replaced by Tyler Chatwood, who came off the paternity list.

Darvish said his strength and endurance was good after he played catch on Wednesday. He threw a five-inning , 57-pitch rehab start with Class A South Bend on Monday.

He’s been on the disabled list since May 26 because of tendinitis in his right triceps, his second DL stint this season.

Darvish has a 4.95 ERA in eight starts with the Cubs since he signed a $126 million, six-year deal with the team in February.

Austrian skier Roland Leitinger will miss the Pyeongchang Olympics next month after injuring his right knee during free skiing on Thursday.

The Austrian ski federation says Leitinger , who won silver in giant slalom at the world championships last year, will undergo surgery later Thursday after tearing his ACL in a crash at the Reiteralm.

Leitinger says ”there is never a good moment for an injury but this is incredibly bitter.”

The 26-year-old Leitinger was the surprise runner-up to fellow Austrian Marcel Hirscher in the GS at the worlds in St. Moritz, Switzerland , in February but had yet to land a top-10 result on the World Cup this season.

Francisco Lindor and the Cleveland Indians reached double digits Elgton Jenkins Jersey , and then some.

Lindor homered and hit two of the Indians’ 11 doubles Sunday as they ended the Oakland Athletics‘ six-game winning streak with a 15-3 romp.

”It was really good,” Lindor said. ”Hopefully it’ll keep us in the right direction. Guys felt very comfortable today in the box. Hopefully we can carry that approach to tomorrow’s game.”

Edwin Encarnacion also homered and Jose Ramirez, Yonder Alonso and Lonnie Chisenhall each added two doubles. The Indians nearly matched the team record of 12 doubles set against Minnesota in 1996.

”We kept the line moving,” manager Terry Francona said. ”We hit the ball the other way, we hit the ball through the hole, we went first to third. That’s a good recipe for us. They’re grinding and grinding so it’s nice to have something to show for it.”

Alonso had four hits and three RBIs. Cleveland broke open the game with an eight-run eighth inning – its first 10 batters reached without an out.

Mike Clevinger (7-3) allowed three runs over six uneven innings as the AL Central leaders avoided a sweep.

Cleveland led 5-3 before its big eighth, getting five singles, two doubles, two walks and a hit batter before the A’s recorded an out. When Yan Gomes hit a comebacker to pitcher Josh Lucas for the first out, the Coliseum crowd of 16 Jace Sternberger Jersey ,164 erupted in mock cheers.

Khris Davis had two hits for the A’s. Oakland had won 12 of 14 going into the day, but left the bases loaded in the first and struggled to get much going after that.

”It’s unfortunate that this game got completely out of hand for us because the guys felt great about not only playing well but coming back,” A’s manager Bob Melvin said. ”We had some good at-bats and then it just got a little out of hand.”

The Indians were outscored 10-3 in the first two games of the series and were on the verge of being swept for the second time this season before breaking out against A’s starter Frankie Montas (4-2) and four relievers.

Lindor struck out in his first at-bat, doubled in his next two and hit his 21st home run in the seventh. The Indians leadoff hitter later drew a bases-loaded walk in the eighth.

Encarnacion also homered in the seventh, his 20th this season.

Cleveland’s 13 extra-base hits are the most in the majors in a game this season. . The Indians are 7-1 when facing a sweep in the final game of a series. . Mark Canha has a 10-game hitting streak for Oakland.

Chisenhall made a diving catch at the right-field foul line on Chad Pinder’s sinking fly ball to end a bases-loaded threat in the first inning. Center fielder Rajai Davis made an equally impressive diving catch on Jed Lowrie’s liner in the third, then threw back to the infield and the Indians completed an 8-4-3 double play.

”Those were huge,” Davis said. ”Those are rally-killers.”

Indians: RHP Carlos Carrasco (right elbow contusion) threw 58 pitches over four innings of a rehab start with Double-A Akron.

Athletics: 3B Matt Chapman (right thumb contusion) took batting practice before the game and will begin a rehab stint with Single-A Stockton on Monday.

Indians: RHP Corey Kluber (11-4, 2.54 ERA) pitches against the Royals in Kansas City on Monday, coming off the shortest start of his career.

Athletics: RHP Chris Bassitt (1-3, 2.82) faces the San Diego Padres on Monday in his second start since getting called up from the minors for the fifth time this season.

Players in the National Football League dream Dexter Williams Jersey , at a young age, to make a career playing football. They work hard, beginning while young; all the way through college, so their name can be called during the NFL Draft. When an athlete's name is called his whole lifestyle changes. Finally, all the hard work he did to get to this point has paid off. Now during his career in the NFL there are some who put in that same work ethic like they did, even going back to their high school days, to prove they belong in the league and make a name for themselves. For example: We've seen that with Tom Brady, who has worked hard all his life to be at the point he is at now, 40 years old, and still at the top of his game. Peyton Manning who also worked hard throughout his days in the league was also one of the best in the game. There are also the players who are not playing in the NFL anymore. They own businesses Rock Ya-Sin Jersey , work as a coach, or are a commentator for a network. Some have become motivational speakers as well. There are players that also go completely broke after football because of off field issues, whether that be owing child support, trouble with the law, or careless with their money. In this article I'm going to take a look at the 15 NFL players who are retired and own a business, and who are motivational speakers.

Many of them we know about because of media reporting, but in today’s social media age, several players are breaking news themselves. One such player is Jeffery Simmons, a defensive tackle from Mississippi State. Simmons posted on his Instagram account on Thursday that he is at Lambeau for an official visit (Thanks go to @SeedsofJake for finding the post first.)Simmons was a highly disruptive presence for the Bulldogs, starting in Starkville for three years. He had seven sacks in that time, all coming in his final two years with five in 2017 and two in 2018. He also had double-digit tackles for loss in both seasons, with 12 in 2017 and 18 in 2018.However, Simmons has both injury and off-the-field red flags. During his workouts in preparation for his Pro Day, Simmons suffered a torn ACL. Therefore Jermaine Whitehead Jersey , he is widely expected to spend his rookie season on injured reserve, with only a small chance of recovering in time to play in 2019.Simmons was not scheduled to attend the 2019 NFL Combine because of a violent incident during his final year of high school. Simmons repeatedly punched a woman in the street near his home in March of 2016, and the incident was recorded on a video camera. He has reportedly been a model citizen at MSU since arriving on campus — sentiments from both head coaches he has played for — but that incident will surely come up during interviews in today’s visit. In the past, the Packers have used top-30 visits to bring in and interview prospects with significant off-the-field issues. In 2017 they brought in Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon, who also punched a woman and had the incident recorded on video, and in 2016 they brought in Eastern Kentucky edge rusher Noah Spence, who was dismissed from Ohio Stateafter multiple failed drug tests. Clay Matthews appeared to disapprove of the Packers’ re-issuing his No. 52 so quickly after his free agency departure to the Rams. Matthews left Green Bay as the franchise’s all-time leader in sacks with 83.5, and tied with Reggie White and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila with four 10-sack seasons.“Coming to an organization like this, you understand the players that play here before you and the standard that you need to uphold,” Gary said. “Every time I wear that 52, it means a lot to me.”

But it’s Monday and, like much of the country, we’re back to work today. While it’s a sign the Lions are far from done adding to their roster before the beginning of the 2019 regular season, it’s also a good indicator of the kind of moves you can expect them to make. In other words, don’t expect the Lions to make any blockbuster moves between now and training camp. So now is a good time to look back at the Lions’ entire offseason and evaluate the good and bad things Detroit did. To enter the weekend, let’s start with the good. Today’s Question of the Day is:What was the Lions’ best offseason move in 2019?My answer: It’s the simple answer Ricky Wagner Jersey , but Detroit’s aggressive play to get defensive end Trey Flowers in free agency is easily their best offseason move. They may have overpaid. They may have trouble managing their salary cap when his cap hits reaches $20 million annually. But Flowers is just about the perfect player the Lions could have ever hoped for. Not only did he fill the Lions’ biggest offseason need, but he’s obviously a perfect scheme fit, too. And perhaps most of all, Flowers is going to be the lead-by-example locker room presence that Matt Patricia wants and needs to complete the culture change in Detroit. Even with the return of Adrian Clayborn to Atlanta in free agency Stitched Justin Bethel Jersey , Falcons owner Arthur Blank believes his team still needs more help along the offensive and defensive lines.“I think the needs in the draft are exactly the same as going into free agency: I think we’ve got to get younger on the offensive line,” Blank said, via Vaughn McClure of “We made some improvements, in that regard, in free agency, but we’re looking at that in the draft.“I think the defensive line continues to be a need for us. We’re able to do a lot of the things we need to do to improve the roster.” If you’re a Phillies fan, then the words that you heard from owner John Middleton on Friday via Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The golden quote from Middleton is that the Phillies plan to “maybe even be a little bit stupid” about spending money this offseason. He quickly tried to laugh it off by saying that they weren’t going to be “completely stupid” but by then, the hype train had left the station. You heard it straight from man who is signing the checks in Philadelphia: The Phillies are going to be aggressive spenders this offseason, to the point where it could be considered stupid. Naturally, this means that Phillies fans and baseball fans in general could now have dreams of potentially seeing both Manny Machado and Bryce Harper running around Citizens Bank Park in those familiar red pinstripes. That’s exactly what the crew over at The Good Phight is dreaming of at the moment Stitched Jack Crawford Jersey , as they went into detail about just how Philadelphia could possibly afford both superstars and maybe even a couple of other stars as well. They also made sure to note that this doesn’t necessarily mean that Philadelphia is now a lock to go after both. The luxury tax is still a thing and while the baseball decision-makers for the Phillies probably appreciate having the purse strings considerably lightened up, that could be the line that is considered as being “completely stupid.” Maybe we will see Philadelphia go after the two biggest jewels of the free agency class and maybe a miracle can happen and they could end up finding a way to land both superstars and make it work for everybody involved. The odds of that happening are pretty small but at the same time, the baseball world may as well get ready to see the Phillies involved in plenty of Hot Stove rumors and rumblings. This could be an incredibly memorable offseason for Philadelphia or it could end up being relatively disappointing if they don’t go on a spending spree that was hinted at by the owner, himself. Either way, it’s going to be interesting and that’s all that us neutral fans could really ask of them at this point in the offseason. Let’s set this Hot Stove on fire.Hey look, the Marlins have new uniforms (again). In my opinion, they’re not bad at all. What does Grant Brisbee think of them? If you want to know, then he gave his opinion on each new jersey. If you haven’t seen them yet Youth Jack Crawford Jersey , then now’s your chance. Here’s a spoiler alert: Trevor Story hit the longest home run of the 2018 season. But I’m sure that you want to see that dinger. Apparently the Padres believe that they can get Noah Syndergaard to come to San Diego via trade. If it sounds crazy, Whitney McIntosh believes that it’s actually not all that crazy of an idea. This week has been a long month for the Seattle Mariners. They ended Friday with a bit of a news dump concerning their HR’s review of the ugly situation concerning their treatment of Dr. Lorena Martin. Steve Pearce became a popular figure for the Red Sox during their run to yet another World Series title. He’ll continue to be popular in Boston for 2019 after he agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Red Sox. We’ve already talked about how the Phillies could be super-aggressive this offseason. Meanwhile in the Bay Area, how aggressive should the A’s be?Anibal Sanchez had himself a nice season pitching for the Braves in 2018 but it’s clear that he’s going to be moving on. Is Milwaukee going to be his next destination? It’s only November but David Robertson is already having himself an adventure of an offseason, for multiple reasons.Meanwhile, here’s hoping that Kenley Jansen’s upcoming heart surgery goes well. The date has officially been set in stone and hopefully all goes well and he can finally put these issues with his heart behind him. Mike Elias has been officially announced as the new GM of the Orioles. Camden Chat came up with five reasons why Orioles fans should be happy with this move. The Buccaneers announced their undrafted free agent signings, with four receivers and a quarterback among the 16 players. The Bucs signed North Dakota State cornerback Jalen Allison, North Dakota State running back Bruce Anderson, South Carolina offensive guard Zack Bailey, Charleston outside linebacker Kahzin Daniels Mike Alstott Jersey White , Boston College safety Lukas Denis, Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald, Indiana long snapper Don Godsil, Wayne State offensive tackle Israel Helms, Buffalo receiver Anthony Johnson, Mississippi receiver DaMarkus Lodge, Vanderbilt outside linebacker Dare Odeyingbo, Toledo offensive tackle Brock Ruble, Fordham tight end Isaiah Searight, Richmond receiver Cortrelle Simpson Lavonte David Jersey , Ferris State receiver Malik Taylor and Wisconsin-Whitewater center Nate Trewyn. The Bucs are going to try to turn Fitzgerald into their version of Taysom Hill, who played quarterback at BYU but whom the Saints have used in a variety of ways the past two seasons. They hope also to find a receiver out of this group.Lodge caught 106 receptions for 1,575 yards and 11 touchdowns in his final two seasons at Ole Miss, including 65 catches for 877 yards and four touchdowns last season. That despite being overshadowed by bigger names A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf at receiver in the Ole Miss offense.Johnson made 76 receptions for 1,356 yards and 14 touchdowns in 12 games his junior season before 1,011 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns last season at Buffalo.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Bengals‘ redesigned offense had quite an opening month, putting up yards and points at a far better rate than in the past two seasons. With opponents getting a better idea of what they’re doing, Andy Dalton and company have sputtered in the past three games. It’s more than just familiarity. In the past three, it has managed only 17 first downs per game and 282 yards Sam Hubbard Jersey , both significant drops.Dalton’s numbers reflect the trend . He threw for 1,197 yards with 11 touchdowns in the first four games. In the past three, he’s thrown for 625 yards with four touchdowns.Their worst showing by far came Sunday night during a 45-10 loss in Kansas City . The Bengals had a season-low 15 first downs and 239 yards against a defense that was last in the league. Dalton threw for only 148 yards and had an interception returned for a touchdown .The offense was shockingly limited in the first half. A.J. Green had six catches for 110 yards. The rest of the receivers combined for four catches for 8 yards. Green accounted for 110 of Cincinnati’s 139 yards as the Chiefs took control.“A couple of us had quiet games in the first half,” said receiver Tyler Boyd, who had three catches for 27 yards overall. “I definitely wanted to make more plays in the first half to ease off A.J. I know he was tired at times, and he made a ton of plays.”The Chiefs adjusted their coverage on Green in the second half and nobody else was able to take advantage.“We have to be able to react and adjust in-game and get back on track,” Dalton said. “Our goal is to get back to the way we were playing and the way we know we can play.”The most glaring drop-off has been at the tight end spot with Tyler Eifert done for the season with a broken ankle and Tyler Kroft sidelined by a foot injury. C.J. The 49ers are going to draft a cornerback. Here’s one option in each round for the team"We’ve gone over one option in each round for safeties for the NFL draft. We’ve also gone over an option in each round for wide receivers. Now it’s time for the cornerback position. One thing that is fascinating about the San Francisco 49ers is the cornerback position. They have plenty of bodies at the position. How many of those bodies are healthy? How many can be relied upon when healthy? I’m dying to know how John Lynch values the current roster. Is the point of him trading back to get a premium pick in order to select a cornerback? If so Womens Kentavius Street Jersey , here are some options in the first four rounds.20’s-Greedy Williams, LSULet’s say the team does end up making a trade with the Raiders and they get one of their first round picks in the 20’s. Let’s say a player falls that they are so in love with that they cannot pass up. That player is likely Greedy Williams. If you only watched two games of Williams in 2018, but didn’t know his name, you’d think he was a top five pick against the Ole Miss wide receivers. Unfortunately, you’d wonder why he wasn’t picked until the third if you watch him against Alabama. It was a rollercoaster year for the tall, lanky, speedy corner out of LSU. His 2017 was much more consistent. The talent is there. Two for the top of the second-Deandre Baker, Georgia. Rock Ya-SinIn this scenario, the 49ers get their offensive skill player with their extra first round selection and now are staring at a defensive back at the top of the second round. Let’s look at two lengthy corners the team could be interested in.BakerWhen I watch Baker, I can tell he can play. I do not think he does enough to warrant a premium pick. That’s the disconnect for me. I think both these names—if they are truly the two options—prove that the team should wait on CB. Baker is more of a zone corner. He’s very good at playing under control and reading the QB. That helped him make plenty of plays in college. Where Baker lacks is change of direction. I saw him give up leverage and positioning way too often. Having ball skills won’t matter if you’re not in position.Ya-SinThe CB out of Temple looks the part. The 49ers should be familiar with him as Ya-Sin participated at the Senior Bowl as well. Ya-Sin is much better at the line of scrimmage than he is playing off-coverage. He just seems more comfortable playing in a receivers face. Ya-Sin is very physical at the line, sometimes resulting in a penalty. That doesn’t bother me. What does is his technique at the line. Ya-Sin lacks patience and doesn’t seem to fully trust his speed. That causes him to “open up” too early, giving the receiver space underneath. This is where he’s projected. I feel it’s a round too early. Two third round gemsIf all goes well, and the 49ers are able to trade back, this would be an ideal spot to snag a cornerback. It seems like there are always names that get pushed down, due to other teams reaching for players that aren’t finished products earlier in the draft. Here are two names that could help in the third.Julian Love, Notre DameThe 49ers don’t need a flashy, “high-upside” player. They need a good Jimmy Garoppolo Jersey , sound, ball hawk. That’s Love. He ran a 4.54 40-yard dash, so he will likely drop a bit. When you watch him, you can tell that Love understands what the offense wants to do. He can read the play and close in a hurry. Love isn’t big, and you see the lack of strength show up. He’ll need to improve at the line of scrimmage as well. For the most part he puts himself in a position to make a play and when he is, he makes it. Love also has experience in the slot. That’s what you want.Sean Bunting, Central MichiganTo me, Bunting is better than both players in the second round above. He is one of the top press corners in the draft. He will embarrass you at the line of scrimmage. He’s that physical. Bunting recovers better than Baker to me as well. Bunting gave up only 41% of passes his way, with a 41% passer rating. To give you an idea of the type of athlete he is, Bunting ran a 4.42 40-yard dash with a 41.5” vertical. You can see that explosion. I have a hard time finding five corners better.Fourth round flier Nik Needham, UTEPThis isn’t a big name by any means. This is the round where you take a guy that might need some time to develop, but has the skills you’re looking for. Needham flashes tremendous potential. The first thing you notice is his athleticism. Needham can run with anyone, but he’s not a linear athlete. There are no issues changing directions. That allowed Needham to contest plenty of plays in 2018. The level of play is in question, as is his production. Needham only had two interceptions during his three-year career. Needham is sound, physical, aggressive, and athletic. This could be the guy we look back at in a couple years and wonder why he fell. How about you Roger Craig Jersey White , who are the best options? Later today I’ll have CB rankings! Steelers receiver Antonio Brown has kept a very low profile in the aftermath of the unflattering report regarding the latest distraction he has created in Pittsburgh. With one exception.49ers tight end George Kittle, apparently aware of the rift currently existing between Brown and the Steelers, tweeted a simple greeting to wideout who currently may be feeling unwanted: “Sup?”Brown responded, tweeting a starry eyed emoji. The gesture is being interpreted, regardless of intent, as Kittle making a pitch for Brown to join the 49ers, and Brown accepting. The biggest impediment (beyond 49ers management actually wanting Brown), continues to be Brown’s contract. Because the Steelers opt for large signing bonuses over guaranteed money beyond the first year, and because the Steelers routinely restructure contracts to create cap space, the cap consequences for trading or cutting Brown would exceed $21 million. But if this embattled receiver has also become embittered, the Steelers could be looking at a T.O. 2005 situation, on the other end of the Commonwealth. Which could force them to do something in order to avoid another season filled with even more distractions that trace back to a receiver who has demonstrated in recent months a side far different than the hard-working, always-smiling yardage and touchdown machine. And if Brown somehow ends up in San Francisco this offseason, yes, the 49ers and Steelers are scheduled to face each other in 2019.

The Seattle Seahawks promoted defensive end Branden Jackson from the practice squad and waived tight end Darrell Daniels on Tuesday.Jackson appeared in 12 games for Seattle last season and re-signed to the team’s practice squad after being waived during final roster cuts earlier this month. Head coach Pete Carroll said he was uncertain of defensive end Dion Jordan‘s health status coming out of Sunday’s game against Dallas and Jackson’s promotion could be in response to that issue.Seattle acquired Daniels in a trade for Marcus Johnson at the end of the preseason. Johnson was acquired along with a fifth-round pick from Philadelphia this offseason in exchange for defensive end Michael Bennett. Seattle then traded that fifth-round pick and a seventh-round pick to Denver to move up to select punter Michael Dickson. So if you’re into trade lineages and who Seattle still has on its roster Youth Robert Nkemdiche Jersey , the Seahawks have essentially traded Michael Bennett for Michael Dickson. The New England Patriots. While the Patriots just brought back Danny Shelton, he has his eyes on contending as well.If not the Patriots, Adam Schefter speculated on a couple more teams that could make sense. While McCoy makes sense from a positional need and value standpoint Stitched Haason Reddick Jersey , there are likely too many hurdles to overcome, price tag and the fact that McCoy wants to sign with apresumed contender. That alone likely eliminates the Cardinals. However, it is not over til it is over.

Last season Kyler Murray Jersey , 48 different NFL quarterbacks started at least two games throughout the 2017 NFL season. There was even a few teams in the league that fielded three starting QB's during the season. The Arizona Cardinals, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, and San Francisco 49ers had some trouble this past season at the most important position on the field. Ironically, two of the teams listed were involved in the Brock Osweiler situation. Back in 2016, the Houston Texans, desperate for a starting QB, gave Denver Broncos QB Brock Osweiler a 4-year contract valued at $72 million. The most important job, arguably in all of pro sports, is the quarterback position in the NFL. No other position in any other sport puts more pressure on one player to produce points for an offense. With that amount of pressure comes a tremendous amount of difficulty to hang onto that job. There are only a handful of QBs in the NFL that could go 0-16 and never be worried about losing their job. Outside of that elite group, it is fair game.So let's take a look at the upcoming 2018 NFL season and predict what 10 QBs will go from being a starter to hitting the bench and the six backups that will finally get a legitimate shot to start. Some of the players have not signed yet so we are projecting where they will end up too. Thomas Dressen ended Germany’s 13-year wait for a men’s World Cup downhill victory on Saturday, upsetting the pre-race favorites in the classic Hahnenkamm race.

Starting 19th and taking advantage of improved visibility during a brief spell of sunshine on a cloudy day, Dressen sped down the 3.3-kilometer Streif course in 1 minute, 56.15 seconds to beat then-leader Beat Feuz of Switzerland by 0.20 seconds.

”I couldn’t believe it when I finished and saw the `1.’ I thought they were making a joke,” the 24-year-old Dressen said. ”I had to look at the timing board twice to believe it. It’s really been a dream to win Kitzbuehel one time. It’s incredible.”

Celebrating in the finish area and watched by more than 40,000 spectators , Dressen screamed for joy, holding both skis above his head before kneeling down for a moment.

”I was trying to soak up the atmosphere,” said the first German winner of the Hahnenkamm downhill since Sepp Ferstl won it twice – in 1978 and 1979.

Attending Saturday’s race, Ferstl was among the first to congratulate his successor.

”That Ferstl-Streif myth has finally ended,” the 63-year-old Ferstl said. ”I am happy that I can say now, `Thomas has won it as well.”’

Hannes Reichelt of Austria, who won the race four years ago, was 0.41 behind in third, and Aksel Lund Svindal trailed by 1.12 in eighth. The Norwegian, who won Friday’s super-G on the same hill, remained in the lead of the downhill standings, 10 points clear of Feuz.

The German men’s team had not won a downhill since Max Rauffer triumphed in Val Gardena, Italy, in December 2004.

Another victory, however, seemed only a matter of time after the young German speed team of Dressen , Andreas Sander and Josef Ferstl, son of the two-time Kitzbuehel winner, posted several top results in the past two seasons. Ferstl won a super-G in Val Gardena, Italy, last month.

On Saturday, Sander placed sixth while Ferstl was 20th.

”We have a super team, also with the coaches, the ski technicians, the physiotherapists,” Dressen said. ”We try to learn from each other and that’s what brings us forward.”

A downhill silver medalist at the 2014 junior world championships, Dressen got his fifth top-10 result this season, including his first career podium by placing third in Beaver Creek, Colorado, in December.

”For me it is a surprise that it went so well,” Dressen said following his win on one of the most difficult men’s World Cup courses. ”I struggled in the training, especially in the steep section. Today I skied that well for the first time.”

Getting his first victory in Austria was special to Dressen , who moved to the neighboring country as a kid to study and learn racing at the ski school in Neustift in the Tyrol province. Also, he lost his father, Dirk Dressen, in a ski lift accident in nearby Soelden in 2005.

”I was in Neustift for a year and then in Saalfelden for five more years. That has definitely been the right way for me,” said Dressen, who was born in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Bavarian resort will host men’s World Cup races next weekend.

Feuz, the downhill world champion, was starting to believe he had won the race after his leading time was still holding up after 18 starters, with nearly all favorites having completed their runs.

Several racers, most notably Olympic champion Matthias Mayer and fellow Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr, led the Swiss skier halfway through their runs but lost their advantage on the challenging finish section.

”I am very glad with second place. In Kitzbuehel you are always glad when you get to the finish,” Feuz said. ”Last year I crashed here so it wasn’t easy to get that out of my head.”

The 78th edition of the Hahnenkamm races end with a slalom on Sunday.
